Helping People Succeed Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Premier Seating For Marc Cohn Concert

Thanks to the generosity of anonymous supporters, who have donated concert tickets for the March 19th, 7 p.m. event, Helping People Succeed can mark its 1964 official opening at this fundraising concert. First known as Pioneer Occupational Center, the non-profit served families of adults with disabilities, providing work and communications skills as part of its programs.

The Cohn concert is Wednesday, March 19th at 7 p.m. The premier tickets are $100 per person, including a pre-event reception at 6 p.m. at The Gafford restaurant on Flagler Avenue, south of the theatre. All proceeds from the special tickets will benefit Helping People Succeed programs and services. The tickets can be purchased from Lynn Austin by calling 772.320.0773.

Cohn is the singer/songwriter of such famous hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s and today as “Walking in Memphis,” “True Companion,” “Silver Thunderbird” and many more. He is described as a natural storyteller with his songs drawn from life experiences. During this performance, Cohn will offer behind-the-scenes stories of his life as a musician, as well as his music hits.

Helping People Succeed is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, serving 4,500 families in Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties. Its programs and services include Baby Steps, Healthy Families, Music & Movement and the BRAIN program (Building Readiness Among Infants Now). It also offers Behavioral Health Services, Employment Options for adults with disabilities and Community Connections. In the last three years, the organization has coordinated after-school programs for students with autism spectrum disorder and recently added counseling for parents and families, yoga therapy and art therapy.
