Infant & Toddler Social Communication
Helping People Succeed's Infant & Toddler Social-Communication Program helps families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years who live in Martin or St. Lucie counties.
Through educational home visits, a developmental specialist teaches parents play techniques that can address parental concerns about their child’s decreased interest in:
- Making eye contact
- Snuggling
- Responding to a parent's voice and/or facial expressions
- Playing social games and/or using social gestures
Some children may also:
- Resist feeding or nursing
- Have delayed motor development
- Have delayed or loss of speech skills
- Have a sibling who also has social-communication difficulties
