Florida Department of Health Provides Hepatitis A Vaccine Outreach to Helping People Succeed

The declaration is heard loud and clear that residents of the Treasure Coast should get the Hepatitis A vaccine in order to be protected from this contagious virus. The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in Martin County has confirmed that we are experiencing an outbreak here as well as many other communities across Florida, and in many other states.

Our Department of Health has gone to great lengths to make the vaccine accessible to all residents. Recently they provided vaccines at the United Way Community Conversations meeting, and from there offered to bring the vaccine to other locations. Helping People Succeed took them up on the offer to schedule a vaccination day for employees and customers, which took place this week.

Helping People Succeed holds their 2019 Annual Meeting

Some nonprofits hold annual meetings that are strictly businesslike: review the past year, discuss goals for the future, swear in new board members and disperse.

At Helping People Succeed, they do things a little differently. The usual components are there, but the abundance of admiration, gratitude and respect that infuses every aspect of the meeting sets a wonderful tone.

Helping People Succeed’s White Shirt Night Event Honors Our Veterans

It wouldn’t be June without that perennial favorite, White Shirt Night, the colorful and joyful fundraiser that benefits Helping People Succeed.

For the past 10 years, Taste Casual Dining in Hobe Sound has welcomed some of the Treasure Coast’s premier artists to an evening in which they paint original expressions of their art on white shirts, napkins, tote bags and caps in either patriotic red, white and blue or more tropical colors.

This year’s talented and award-winning artists – who donated their time and talent – were Laura DeBerard, Sharon Ferina, James Hook, Carol Ann Hughes, Ginny Jones, Danielle Keller, Leah Krumme’, Dan Mackin, Pamela Patterson, Kathy Pitts, Susan Roberts, Sue Ann Mosley Saleeby and Theresa Krueger Woleslagle.
