Janet Cooper, a 15-year employee at Helping People Succeed, was recently named Vice President of Behavioral Services for the nonprofit organization serving Martin and St. Lucie Counties. Her new position oversees and manages activities of the Behavioral Services Division, which includes management and administrative duties for Successful Families and Successful Futures divisions.
Over the years, Cooper’s assignments have included maintaining Electronic Medical Records and Billing Systems. She started as the Behavioral Services Coordinator, an Operations Director and Compliance Officer.

From the beauty of beach scenes and birds to the Old Colorado Inn in downtown Stuart, Helping People Succeed’s 2016 Art for Living Calendar brought together more than 75 guests to enjoy the art work of 12 area artists featured in Helping People Succeed’s annual calendar.
The evening of art was hosted by Price Wealth Management and UBS Financial Services Inc., at their East Ocean Blvd. offices. On hand to greet UBS guests included Craig Price, Raymond Klahne, William John Gilcher, and Clifford Mandody.

Our thanks to Master Car Restorer Wayne Carini and The Elliott Museum for the television host’s recent lecture on classic cars and Carini’s interest in Helping People Succeed’s autism spectrum disorder programs.
Carini is host of the Velocity Channel’s Chasing Classic Cars show and has worked on cars for such named clients as David Letterman and the DuPont Family. His television program has been broadcast for about eight years.

The state of Florida held its first ever collaborative conference called the First 1000 Days Florida Summit, through the efforts of the statewide Children’s Services Councils, Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions, the Early Learning Coalitions, the Florida Association for Infant Mental Health, and United Way of Florida. The conference was held in West Palm Beach and was filled to capacity at the Palm Beach Convention Center.
At this summit, Helping People Succeed and Martin Medical Center were awarded second place honors for their popular Building Readiness Among Infants Now (BRAIN) program.

Joyous singer and songwriter Claudia Schmidt and internationally acclaimed countertenor Terry Barber were back in Martin County on February 4th for an encore Helping People Succeed blockbuster performance for more than 120 concert guests at Loblolly in Hobe Sound.
“Bringing Claudia and Terry to Loblolly was our way of saying 'thank you' to such a generous community. The residents of Loblolly and the Loblolly Foundation have been supportive of our mission in an incredible way. And it's made such a difference!" said Suzy Hutcheson, President/CEO of Helping People Succeed.

Jennifer Martin is the new Employment Consultant for Helping People Succeed in the local program of Project SEARCH, a national organization for job training and social skills for young adults between 18 and 22 years old. In its sixth year, the program is coordinated by Martin Health System, Helping People Succeed, ARC of Martin County, the Martin County School District and FL-DOE Vocational Rehabilitation.

For the past six years, Stockings of Love has provided hundreds of filled Christmas stockings for the children enrolled in Helping People Succeeds programs.
This year, Stockings of Love founder Lynn Flynn made sure that 370 families had stockings on Christmas morning for their young children.
