Home based Developmental Intervention Services have been provided since 1978 through Helping People Succeed. Originally targeted exclusively for families with children under three with developmental disabilities or delays, these services are also available to families who need developmental guidance.

Educational home visits are provided by developmental specialists who partner with parents to provide developmentally appropriate play activities focused on each child’s unique strengths and skills. Through play activities children are assessed in their cognitive, language, self- help, fine motor, gross motor and social skills. Then together with the parent, goals are developed that will be focus of weekly developmental play sessions in the home.

Parents are also provided information on local community resources that may assist them in other ways.

Developmental Intervention Services are offered in Martin and St. Lucie counties. Additionally, we employ a Community Resource Mom that focuses specifically on intervention with families residing in the Northwest Ft. Pierce community.
